Domestic Medical Exam
Understanding Your Domestic Medical Exam
What is a Domestic Medical Exam?
- A Domestic Medical Exam is a comprehensive medical exam provided for refugees that should be performed within the first 90 days of their arrival in the U.S.
- This evaluation is an opportunity to identify health issues, promote well-being, orient new arrivals to the US healthcare system, and connect refugees with primary care and specialty care. This usually consists of 2 or 3 appointments.
